Keen for a late Spring, midweek 2-nights away, scenic ride through NSW’s Snowy Mountains, Riverina, Central West and Southern Tablelands (outbound Wednesday 04/11/26 and returning Friday 06/11/26)? Then join the Club for a 3-day ride on a mix of winding, sometimes twisty and hilly (inc. hairpins) and sometimes flatter and straighter, sealed roads through Adaminaby, Kindra, Tumut (overnighting Day 1), Coolamon, Bribbaree, Grenfell, Forbes (overnighting Day 2), Eugowra, Canowindra, Neville, Trunkey Creek, Tuena and Gunning. Short on time or prefer a not-so-long ride? Then why not:
- join the first leg of the ride through to Adaminaby for coffee (230 km return ex. Michelago); or
- join for Day 1, then skip Forbes and head elsewhere on Day 2; or
- skip Day 1 and join us in Coolamon for lunch on Day 2, through to Forbes for the night and then home on Day 3?
Outbound Day 1 (Wed. 4/11) – Michelago to Tumut (TS): Ex Michelago Café (50 Ryrie St)-Adaminaby (coffee/refuel)-Kiandra-Elliott Way-O’Hare’s Campground (regroup)-Tumbarumba (refuel if needed)-Rosewood (lunch)-Tumut (refuel & overnight):
Note: As at 15/10/26 Google Maps & Live Traffic NSW incorrectly identify Elliott Way as a road closure (the road is open with section/s of contraflow roadworks). To force mapping via this route I’ve resorted to multiple sectors and multiple waypoints every few kms along its length from O’Hare’s Campground to its junction with Tooma Rd:
Approx. 325 km ex. Michelago so 360-400km ex. home depending where that is) on a mix of sealed main, secondary and minor roads (expect damaged surfaces).
Day 2 (Thurs. 5/11) – Tumut to Forbes (TS):
Approx. 391 km on a mix of sealed main, secondary and minor roads (expect damaged surfaces).
Day 3 Return (Fri. 6/11) - Forbes to Sutton Bakery (TS):
Approx. 340 km on a mix of sealed main, secondary and minor roads (expect damaged surfaces).
Ride Rankings: TS3 due to the technical nature of some roads and likely variable road conditions/surfaces ( https://www.bmwmccact.org.au/page-1419638 - see link to Ride Ranking Scale bottom right of page).
Proposed rest, lunch and refuel stops (see above): All flexible - to be agreed by riders each day.
Accommodation: Book your own accommodation in Tumut and Forbes directly, depending on your preference for camping, pub or motel.
Meeting Point: Meet fuelled and ready to go (you and your bike!) at the Michelago Café (50 Ryrie St) at 08:45 for an 09:00 set-off.
Register if you're interested in joining the ride and to receive further information. Any questions, then email rides@bmwmcc.au.
