DO NOT USE THE SWAMPY PLAIN RIVER 4WD CROSSING

NSW National Parks & Wildlife has granted the Club a restricted permit for the 45th Kosciuskzo Rally at Behrs Flat (aka Keebles Hut) Campground 2km (dirt) off the sealed Alpine Way in the picturesque Snowy Mountains that offers some of the best motorcycling roads in Australia.  NSWNPWS restrictions on events at Geehi Alpine Hut Campground and comment suggest this may be the last Kosciuszko Rally at Behrs Flat or Geehi Hut.

Rally supplies can be purchased at Jindabyne or Corryong with smaller offerings at Thredbo (43km) or Khancoban (31km).  Fuel is available at all 4 towns.

If you use Google Maps DO NOT use the suggested route and 4WD crossing of Swampy Plain River. This is a clear fast flowing high risk river.

DO use the 2km dirt/gravel road by turning left just before the bridge if coming from Thredbo or right just after the bridge from Khancoban.  See this map.

Take YOUR time on this gravel road that rises then descends down to Behhrs Flat.

Follow the access road crossing over a rise and main road to Keebles Hut. If you cross the rise and turn right to follow the river edge look out for wombat burrows! Look for direction signs at the bridge & Club tent in the campground.

The Club has booked a 'group' campsite for those buying a rally badge or NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service require pre-booked individual campsites for 1-6 persons online https://www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/camping-and-accommodation/campgrounds/behrs-flat-campground.  If YOU choose to camp at Geehi Alpine Hut campground (across the river) and seperate to the rally then will need to book a separate campsite ($6/6 person/ 1 week).  KNP has park use (entry) fees for persons camping overnight and provides no rubbish facilities, so take your rubbish home with you.

The Club provides free rubbish bags and fire wood to those buying a badge and will provide for sale Saturday dinner BBQ roll and Sunday morning egg & bacon roll with espresso coffee or tea.  Register or let us know you are coming to help with catering and guarantee YOUR (ticketed) meal.
